With a white ball Jones probably had a point about the white wristband but it was a bit unwise.

Can remember Dean Jones in an ODI insisting that Curtly Ambrose take off his white sweatband on his wrist when he was bowling.
First Curtly tried to kill Jones
Then the rest of the Australian batsmen who had to face a revved up Curtly had a go at finishing off what was left.

East was gold dust. Why he 'did' nightwatchman was beyond me. "East walks, in, Clarke bowls, East leaves the crease with stumps scattered every where, Surrey laugh themselves to pieces".

I played against Fletcher a few times. He was a gnarly old pro. i used to wear a gold chain with a gold cricket bat (acquired by RJ Hadlee) and Fletcher would insist i turn the chain around so the bat was behind my neck when I bowled at him. The only one.

I asked Fletcher if he requested that DK Lillee do the same thing? Got told to fuck off.

Anderson, Stokes and Rashid added to the team from Lords to make a squad of 14 for Friday's Second Test at Old Trafford.
Toby Roland-Jones goes from 12th man at Lords to out on his ear.

All the other lads were great with kids... apart from Ackfield.. I told Keith Fletcher what he said when I got his autograph... he told me to just ignore him... miserable old fencing cunt

I wasn't told to fuck off, but acfield refused an autograph for me too. At Castle Park in COLCHESTER. I was 10 and I was mortified. Took me ages to get the front back to ask anyone else for one, until I asked nick knight, who told me to piss off.

I still refuse to believe this is a reflection on me

Ag Ag... like that VH... absolute character was Raymondo... Ackfield told me to fuck off when I asked for his autograph... he had just been belted for over a ton so I let him off...

Rashid for Ali in the 2nd test , far superior bowler and as good if not better as a batsman

Ackfield and East were an interesting pair. Ackfield was quite intense, east continually took the piss or had a strop and both could bowl. Ackfield had a posh accent, east was very 'in the sticks' but somehow they complimented each other perfectly.

In one game East came out to bat with a bat that was flat on both sides. One side had the letter B (block) written on it, the other side had S (Slog) written on it. We brought on Clarke and asked him if he ever changed the S word to Shitting himself.

We need a spinner who can actually take wickets so Ali can fuck off

I'd be very surprised if that's not the team for the 2nd test.

Will say, I'm not sure why Ian BELL has been seemingly totally disregarded. Would have preferred to see him than Balance recalled, but now Balance is back he has to get a proper chance.

I do worry about when Broad and Anderson are gone, though hopefully there are some good youngsters out there.

There's just no one else in the England team who is that good at bowling at the moment consistently well.

I'd probably bin M0 more for hi shot yesterday than I would for his bowling, if I'm honest.
